Chinese Spread Their Wings

The Chinese are spreading their wings and the results will not be good for mankind. Global elites have empowered the tyrannical Chinese leadership for two decades. Soon we will all reap the rotten harvest they have sown.

In recent years the Chinese have tested space based weapons and ground based laser systems. The Chinese have purchased a Russian aircraft carrier and are building carriers themselves. Now they have deployed a ballistic anti-ship missile that threatens US carrier battle groups in the Pacific.

Considering the tyrannical nature of the Chinese government, none of these developments will be used to insure peace in the world. China will use these weapons to enforce compliance with Chinese interests. And like the Mongol hordes, Chinese interests only serve Chinese.

The Chinese have demonstrated their willingness to confront adversaries without regard to consequences. Remember the US spy plane forced down in 2000, DPRK attacks on ROK and confrontations with Japanese vessels. China recognizes no law but Chinese interests.

The Chinese have a strategy and barring a US strategy the Chinese will always get their way. The US plan seems to be, keep feeding China jobs and revenue while hoping the Chinese become more liberal. This is a fool's errand that will fail. When China eventually strangles from lack of resources, they will move to take what they believe they deserve. Then what?

US carrier battle groups are dinosaurs on the 21st century battlefield. Obsolete as battleships in WW2. If the US has any interest in military prowess I hope they are developing weapon systems to counter emerging Chinese threats. Otherwise the US will be reduced to spectators as the Chinese hordes take what they need.

US Economy CSI

BLS has changed how it measures long term unemployment to capture part of the depth of the current US depression. The Current Population Survey will increase the unemployment upper limit from two years to five years for computational purposes. This change will give statisticians better ability to calculate long term unemployment in the "new normal" economy.

The government will need better statistics in order to explain to the american people why their standard of living is in full decline. And why taxes must go up to support those millions of under and unemployed americans who live on the margins of society.

No one has a clue how to fix the broken global economy but you can rest assured that statisticians will find better methods of documenting the unfolding horror.

AGW Causes All Weather - In Some Circles

No matter what happens, people desperately want to feel relevant. They want to be at the center of the universe, the center of attention and the reason for existence. That's the only thing I can come up with to explain much of the individual and civilizational madness in the world today.

Dr. Judah Cohen, Director of Seasonal Forecasting, Atmospheric and Environmental Research, Inc. recently wrote a bizarre editorial in the NYT where he claims that AGW is the cause of all weather. Too hot, too wet, too snowy, too dry; it's all AGW at the root.

Well of course Dr. Cohen is going to be on the global warming bandwagon, he and his company financially benefit directly from scam. He is heavily, personally invested since he obtained a PhD in Atmospheric Sciences from Columbia. Without climate change he is just another lab rat writing incorrect forecasts that no one reads. With global warming he is a highly sought-out writer and lecturer who gets to attend conferences in exotic locations where he can yammer on and people actually listen to and write what he says. He's a rock star!

In a world of 7 billion people, almost everyone wants to stand out of the crowd. That special tattoo, the quirky attitude, the sophisticated lifestyle are all sure to be a crowd pleaser. They'll get you the attention you need and desire, and might make you a pile of cash to boot. Surely you'll go down in history as a notable while mere mortals are forgotten by even relatives within a couple of generations.

I may not have a PhD in atmospheric sciences but I have lived for damn near 60 years. So I know that weather will happen. Hot, cold, snow, dry, wet plus storms will happen. We will have warm periods and cold periods, snowy and rainy periods and dry periods. It's the way of God's creation. You could make up a narrative about the weather or interpret a dream. It's all the same.

Judah Cohen will have his pieces of silver and his moments in the spotlight but he will rot in the ground in the end. Future schoolchildren will not read his life story or visit a monument to his genius. All of his doings will be undone. Just like the rest of us. What he should worry about is what his maker will think of his doings in this mortal coil.

Obama Regime Rules by Edict...Again

Denied by the Senate, the Obama regime has once again decided to ignore the will of the american people and rule by edict. The EPA will regulate power plant and refinery carbon emissions to fight global climate change. The dictator sees no need to consult the people when he can order them about like subjects. And once again, his commisars announce this order on Christmas eve to keep this important news out of the media news cycle.

AGW has been debunked, modified to be "climate change" and proven to be promoted with fraudulent data but Obama moves along with the scam to give government more power over their subjects. This regulation of the basic building block of life on this planet will increase energy costs during a depression. Real people will suffer from it. But the dictator doesn't care one tiny bit. All that matters is the global elite's power agenda.

Nazis Following Orders

Remember all the outrage when DHS was formed after 911? Progressives called President Bush a Nazi for stealing their freedom by means of Chertoff's DHS. I was never fond of any organization that uses "Homeland" in it's title as it sounded a little to German Security Apparatus for my tastes. But nothing oppressive occurred under the Bush administration DHS.

It takes a democrat administration to bring out the worst of DHS. The Obama regime TSA has turned into a police state apparatus, progressively becoming more authoitarian and less responsive to the american people. Recently TSA used police state tactics to harass and intimidate a pilot who spoke out about ineffective TSA procedures.

Special types of people are drawn to law enforcement. They are not normal people. They see themselves on a mission from God to make the world right. These are the people who tortured and burned "witches and heretics" in the Middle Ages and dutifully rounded up and gassed Jews in Nazi Germany. You can't reason with these people because they are just following orders. And they will follow any goddamned order they are given.

The TSA is drifting towards becoming the Gestapo under the Obama regime. Where is the ACLU? Are they asleep or do they support american law enforcement becoming the KGB? Where is the media? Same deal? In Russia, Putin harrasses, arrests and sometimes kills political dissenters. How is Obama different with regard to his political dissenters, except by degree?

What the government did with regard to this pilot is wrong. State and federal bureaucracies ran rough shod over his civil liberties and the Constitution. Is this how the Constitution ends? Nazis following orders?

Is a Oil Price Driven Inflation Crisis Coming in 2011?

Oil prices have been on the move, today spiking at $91.13 per barrel. Cold weather, declining supplies and commodity traders looking for stores of value have all driven up recent prices. Most sources believe that oil will  move above $100 /bbl early in 20111 and some believe we could see $150 /bbl this coming summer.

Zerohedge says each $1 increase in oil prices reduces GDP by $100B AND each penny increase in gasoline prices reduce consumer disposable income by $600M. Since the Obama regime won't allow drilling in the US, most of the $5.9T will be imports, therefore a huge drag on the US economy by summer. And consumer disposable income will drop by $60B. So much for any economic recovery in 2011.

I'm paying right at $3/gal for gasoline today and will pay over $4/gal if oil rises to $150 /bbl. My monthly commute bill will increase to $375/mo if this scenario plays out like it did in 2008.

Expect farmers, grocers and other retailers to pass the increased fuel costs on this time around. Any recovery will generate huge price inflation. Wages will remain flat with un/under-employment running at 20%. This round of inflation won't scour fat, it will eat meat and bone. By Fall 2011 we'll be in a crisis if this scenario plays out.

Spree Spending

Americans are giddy as they spend every last penny they have on Christmas gifts this year. It's almost as if they know this may be the last time they can spree spend before the whole shebang goes down the tubes. The federal government is leading the way.

The US government spent $2T in 2010 after spending $1.23T in 2009. As tax revenue declined the feds increased spending by 37%, increasing the US debt to $13.8T.

32 states have borrowed $37.8B from the US government to pay unemployment benefits. The US economy created a whopping 39,000 new jobs in November. The economy needs to create 250,000 jobs per month to keep up with population growth.

I hired an experienced technician last week at two-thirds the median BLS national and local rate. He's happy to be working but he'll just get by. That's the real story beyond the unemployment in this depression. Those people making 2/3 what they did before the crash won't paying taxes or buying consumer goods. They'll be struggling to keep a roof over their head, lights and heat on and food in their belly.

Our local economic development director wrote a column in the local paper that was just giddy about our "thriving economy".  You see, companies are investing locally to retain jobs. Almost $1B in equipment that won't create even one new job. And we have new sidewalks in the decaying downtown, so lawyers won't stumble as they file paperwork at the courthouse to foreclose on all those mortgages.

The ship is slowly sinking but the narrative goes on. Extend and pretend. Spend every cent you have, max out your credit and spend some more.

Maybe the Gloom is Lifting

FT thinks the gloom is lifting in america. Maybe. If you're one of the lucky ones that didn't get kicked in the balls during the chaos of this depression. Those of us who got kicked two, three, four times are still trying to get air. Most of us are pretty pissed off and ready to get some get-even. The elites need a good and thorough ass kicking.

The global elites got a lot richer while telling ordinary americans that they don't care what we think. The elites are consolidating thier most recent gains but they'll be back for more. Like Chavez, they want to rule by decree. But we're onto them now and the next round will be much more unpleasant for our self-styled royalty.

Maybe the gloom is lifting, but in it's place is a deep and persistent anger for these son-of-a-bitches.

Beautiful but Stupid

Ok. Bar Rephaeli is hot but she doesn't have even a gram of brains. I should have known, after all, she sleeps with Leonardo DiCaprio. And he can't decide if he should sleep with Bar or Putin. Bar had herself buried in coal to protest electricity. Yeah, you know, lights, heat, computers. That "sort" of thing. She's a frickin Greenpeace idiot.

So she can cuddle up in Lugh's bed, but she can't speak. And she can't use electricity. That would be wrong. Only room temperature food and she has to bathe in snowmelt. You have to live by your principles young lady.

Could You Retire Without Social Security?

The WSJ asks the question, could you retire without social security? Then they provide some interesting data for those doing retirement financial planning.

I never expected more from government than to provide for common security and make treaties, coordinate interstate projects and generally enforce the Constitution. The government has been generally failing at those modest tasks lately, and they are getting worse.

I never counted on social security and Medicare, and as the government added benefits I just couldn't see how they could pay for it all. I counted on pensions, savings and investments to take care of my wife and I in retirement rather than social security and Medicare.

Since 2000 the concepts of defined benefit pensions and medical care have disappeared. One of my pensions was handed over to PBGC and I expect another will soon follow. I may end up with one defined benefit pension and two PBGC pensions. I planned but the world changed. I don't know what else I could have done differently.

Our savings and investments took horrific hits the past ten years. We lost years of earnings opportunities because of market losses and lost income due to unemployment. We're behind plan but still have decent savings that could provide a very modest retirement. I plan to work as long as I can so we can continue to build our savings rather than tap earnings.

To the question, could we retire without social security, I'd answer just barely. But in reality no, because if social security collapses it will mean that the US government and economy has collapsed. This would take down two of my pensions, our savings and most likely our only pension not managed by PBGC. If the US government fails, we're financially doomed.

Even if the pensions, savings and social security remain healthy, I believe the wildcard will be health care in retirement. Healthcare inflation has been unsustainable for years and will probably remain so. If Medicare fails I suspect even the best retirement planning will bankrupt retirees when health problems arise. How many retirees could pay $2000 per month for insurance plus the ongoing medical bills? Not many.

I would rather expose myself to the weather if seriously ill than leave my wife destitute in her old age. Put me in a snowbank and throw a bucket of water on me. At least I would die with some honor.

It's a little late in the game for most of us approaching retirement to change our game plan. I could probably retire without social security but the conditions that cause the collapse of it would collapse everything else that I would need to retire without social security. So, in reality the answer is no.

GM: Pack of Theives and Liars

Our local GM plant just can't stop demonstrating how utterly morally bankrupt the new GM truly is. When GM and Delphi came out of bankruptcy last summer Delphi gave GM $259M worth of equipment. GM promptly put the plant and equipment into GM Component Holdings because they don't want to make parts. They just want to assemble cars from parts made by the lowest global bidder (slave wages are A-OK). GMCH is planning on closing the plant as soon as they can outsource the parts. So the equipment has no long term value to them at all. So they self-assessed the equipment value at $7.4M!

The 97% decrease in GMCH property tax assessment stunned local government officials. They saw their life flash before them with the gaping hole in their budgets. Officials consulted their lawyers then restored the original assessment. GM said they would appeal. They have and stand by their value of $7.4M.

The local assessor spoke out yesterday, saying that GM's self-assessed value is less than scrap value! Yeah. The slimeballs at GM are not only willing to shut down the plant, lay off employees and deprive the community and schools of revenue. GM scumbags want to cheat the local government by claiming that their equipment is worth less than scrap! Spit.

And who are these scumbag owners of GM? Well, the federal fucking government, the UAW and a bunch of goddamned banksters. That the taxpayers just bailed out. And who's taking credit for saving american jobs and communities? None other than the Kenyan/Indonesian Marxist Barack Hussien fucking Obama.

So the whole stinking mess goes to court, little Bruigville gets to fight GM attorneys to keep from getting fucked unmercilessly. If local government and schools lose the fight, local taxpayers get to pick up GM's tab.
This little community that provided quality parts to GM for almost 100 years will be set on the curb like garbage so GM can "compete" globally. And GM is prepared to cheat the taxpayers just like they cheated their salaried retirees, bondholders and america.

Beautiful Hedy Lamarr

Hedy Lamarr is just a gorgeous woman. I remember watching her in movies as a child when she would stop me dead in my tracks to just stare at her stunning beauty on television. That face, the eyes and lips, and that little overbite!



The Jewish girl from Vienna was smart too, she co-invented the concept of spread spectrum frequencies that is used for modern wireless technology. She could be naughty too, she shoplifted a couple of times. God only knows why, she had money.

Hedy exuded class, no matter the role. There was an elegance to her that  modern actress/whores never achieve. Any guy would want to offer this lady his arm, defend her honor or protect her from a hostile world. Like Hedy Lamarr, those days are ancient history.

She can still stop me dead in my tracks, and I just stare in awe. They just don't make em like that anymore. The most 'beautiful woman in films" indeed.

Maybe, in the end, she just reminded me of my beautiful mother.

The End is Truly Near

The US doesn't have a budget, nor even a spending resolution beyond Tuesday thanks to this goddamned  Congress. But they did give america openly serving queer soldiers. Perhaps they didn't think this through though. Here's a recently famous queer soldier.

What did this queer soldier do? Well, Bradley Manning used his security clearance and MOS to leak every cable he could get his filthy little hands on to harm his country. Espionage, treason. No moral hazards there.

Yeah, just let the queer soldiers prance around being themselves. Because with queers, it's always about them. They are different, proudly so, and they just have to come out of the closet and parade their queer ways in front of everyone else. Kinda like, fuck you grandma and sergeant,  I'm different.

The military doesn't need a bunch of self-absorbed different people, with rights. It needs people that are willing to obey orders as part of a group. Different=bad. Conformity=good.

Well our Congress is not completely insane, they passed the Bush tax cut extension with payroll tax holidays and the unemployment extension. The market won't sell off, consumer spending won't collapse and there won't be millions of homeless, starving americans in the near future. But votes were bought with pork barrel spending using printed/borrowed dollars, putting america another trillion dollars in debt. But pretend and extend is the rule of the day. As Scarlett would say "We'll worry about that tomorrow".

But Congress is insane. The lame ducks are hell bent to pass "queer soldier", amnesty and nuclear disarmament legislation. None of this legislation needs to be acted on right now, unless you're a lame duck democrat that sees this as the last chance to destroy america. And never expect a democrat to pass up a chance at that.

We need soldiers in the military, it doesn't matter how they relieve their sexual tensions so long as they keep it to themselves. I don't understand why it is so damned important to queers that everyone knows they are queer. But democrats just have to come out of the closet and want to shove their queer ideas down everyone's...um...well. Give it a rest, we don't want to know.

We need more latino slaves like we need a plague of locusts. How about we shut the border and put americans into those jobs that americans won't do? Why is it that every burger joint in the city has all latino crews in a depression with 20% unemployment? Answer that demotards.

Why do we need less nuclear weapons while Iran, Pakistan, DPRK are developing and proliferating nuclear weapons? And who the hell trusts or believes anything, any Russian, ever says? Voyager 1 is leaving the solar system in four years after 33 years in space. Those were the days. Now the US can't even launch a worn out space shuttle. I wonder what history will make of this stunning reversal?

We have a right to know

Who are you going to trust these days? I'm having trouble believing anything that the government says. The continuous BLS unemployment lies pretty much says it all. What else are they lying about? Everything? Where's the criminal investigation of bureaucrats, legislators and bankers for the sub-prime mortgage collapse and the robosign mortgages? How deep are the lies?

But I have trouble believing that Wikileaks is leaking documents to help the common man. Thieves and hackers don't inspire trust. Why should I believe that Wikileaks have good intentions by leaking stolen documents? What good is supposed to come from the leaks? I can't see it.

And where does Wikileaks get the funds to run their operation?

Assange says he runs the organization on less than $200K annually. Bullshit? Blogger Whiskey calculates $1.3M minimum. Wikileaks claims funding from the Wau Holland trust and generous donations from unidentified persons. I think these donations need to be publicly revealed.

Whiskey also suspects that a sovereign government could be the source of Wikileaks funding. China has not been harmed by any leaks, so he believes China may be funding Wikileaks. I don't know. But someone does. And the MSM needs to investigate this matter and tell us schmucks the truth.

Instead we get this broken-condom-rape story with the scam arrest and vague threats about US investigations. And unknown powers shutting websites, closing accounts and acting covert. Where is truth? Where is openness? What does the US government have to hide?

Suspicious? You betcha. We have a right to know.

One Leg of Obamacare Falls

A Virginia judge has ruled that a core principle of Obamacare is unconstitutional. Good for him. Judge Hudson ruled:

Requiring Americans to buy insurance "would invite unbridled exercise of federal police powers," wrote Judge Hudson, a George W. Bush appointee in the Eastern District of Virginia. "At its core, this dispute is not simply about regulating the business of insurance—or crafting a scheme of universal health insurance coverage—it's about an individual's right to choose to participate."

The american people never asked for a king, a nanny or a mom. If the federal government can compel us, under penalty of law, to purchase health insurance, then it can order us to do anything. I am not a subject of the state. I will decide what is best for me, and pay for it. The rest of america can decide what they want, and pay for it. If gays want to give each other AIDS, fine. Pay for it. If women want to sleep around and get pregnant, pay for it. It's none of the state's business under our Constitution.

This government and the social justice crowd better figure out that americans don't want to live under a tyrannical state. They are toeing the line that could be their end.

Wolverines

Red Dawn is just a movie, right? South American troops commanded by Russian or Chinese or Iranian special forces wouldn't or couldn't ever invade and occupy the US. They wouldn't dare consider such a thing.

Venezuela is building up to be a regional military hegemon that will arm and stir up the Americas. Russia, China and Iran are all getting in on the action hoping to cause distress to the US while demonstrating US weakness. Recently the Russians announced sales of attack helicopters, shoulder fired missiles, attack fighters and 100,000 AK-47s. The Iranians will establish a medium range ballistic missile base in Iran. God only knows what is going on in the country.

The US government is systematically ignoring all threats, including our little brown neighbors inside and outside of the nation. They are not our friends and only understand raw, brute force. Displays of civility and friendship are viewed as weakness that requires extreme displays of violence ala Los Zetas turf wars. Eventually all of the violence south of the border is going to end up in our suburbs. Lefties will be shocked by the reality of revolutionary socialism delivered through rape, murder and plunder by the brown-skinned revolutionary vanguard.

I'm teaching my grandsons to be Wolverines so that they at least stand a chance against these "noble savages".

Charge of the Light Brigade....Fails

The London police didn't fare so well against the mob in their latest charge of the light brigade during student riots in London last week. The mounted charge punched a hole in the mob that quickly reformed once the mounted police retreated.

Calvary skills are clearly not in evidence as one policeman went off his mount when the horse was spooked and the broken line was ineffective. The charge endangered several policeman demonstrating a poorly planned and executed operation. Brickbats thrown by the mob frightened the horses, causing them to retreat despite the riders attempt to keep them on the line. These are neither your great-grandparents hoses or horsemen.

Had the mob been larger, more aggressive or better armed the London police would have to either escalate violence or retreat. I expect retreat would be a foregone conclusion. I suppose that it's the right thing to do to try to defend the remnants of imperial wealth. But in the end it will be muslims who inherit everything. I'd leave them rubble.

We'll see more of this as the West strangles under the unbearable burden of entitlements and debt.

This week was talking with the guys at work about beautiful women. Everybody has their preferences I suppose. But I said that a woman's disposition is her deep and lasting beauty, it keeps on attracting long after her soft lines, curves and taunt skin have withered.

I was thinking about the perfect Irish female archetype afterwards. Being a mick by blood and nature, I'm drawn to the raven hair, snow white skin and blood red blush of the cheeks. Forget the Hollywood fiction of Maureen O'Hara as the Irish girl, she's the seed of Viking raids on the Emerald Isle. The fire and fury in the redhead is Norse.

Medical Mafia Extortion Payments Otherwise Known as Options 2011

The company that I work for handed out our 2011 medical options package yesterday. Rates went up 5% but the individual and family deductions doubled. The wife and I will have to incur $1000 in expenses before the plan kicks in. Effectively we're self-paid unless something bad happens. The biggest benefit will come from insurer negotiated prices for medical services.

So I pay $4000 to mitigate the risk of medical disaster that by the grace of God never comes. Just a ghost really. I could buy a car, make payments on a new car or take my family on a damn fine vacation. But I'll buy protection from a ghost that I'll thankfully never see instead. And I'll still pay out a couple thousand dollars for real medical care and prescriptions.

Another Symbol Falls

Here we sit, three business days before the market must decide to sell off and take capital gains now, or stay in for the new year with the possibility of huge tax increases WHILE four million unemployed americans face the reality of Christmas with no income, having lost or soon to lose unemployment compensation. Congress knows that it must extend the Bush tax cuts and should extend unemployment compensation to keep the country from sliding deeper into the depression but is mired in debate on class warfare and pork barrel spending. The president, sensing trouble, calls in a beloved former president to rally democrats around his deal. But he's late for a party and turns the important presidential press conference over to the former president.

This unprecedented behavior demeans his office while showing utter disregard for his job. When has a president ever turned his press conference over to someone to go to a party? And when has a president ever walked away from a crisis to go to a party? Ever?

For many americans an increase in taxes and loss of unemployment compensation is a crisis. Businesses, investors, savers, retirees and workers are facing tax increases that might be the difference between survival and failure. The unemployed are staring into the abyss. The economic future of the country is at risk. Yet all fucktard Obama can think about is being late to his party.

Obama has treated his office with contempt and has done more to destroy the office of President than anyone, ever, in it's history. From his appointees to his comments to his Constitutional abuses to his bowing and his constant godddamned vacations he has consistently treated the office like some piss poor convenience store manager.

The left has tried to destroy the office of President for decades, culminating in the disgraceful treatment of President Bush. But it took an actual President, in the office, to finish off whatever magic the office had. Some vile rapper or gang banger could not have done a worse impersonation of a President of the United States.

Two years ago, a man standing in front of the Presidential Seal commanded respect and power around the world. With a word a President could move nations, command men to fight to the death, even destroy nations. Love or hate, agree or disagree the President commanded and received respect around the world. Now it's just some dude who's standing in for some other dude who went to a party while a crisis burned outside the doors.

The symbol of the Presidency has been thrown on the growing trashheap of Western civilization.

The Dream Comes Stumbling to an End

The wheels are starting to come right off of Western civilization. The 2000 year old holy thorn of Glastonbury was severely, perhaps mortally, wounded by vandals last night. The tree is believed to have been the staff of Joseph or Arimathea planted in England. Cultural vandalism strikes at the very heart of dying cultures whose symbols no longer have value. Christ has been severed from Britain.

Elsewhere in the crumling kingdom, students rioted over aid cuts, attacking Prince Tampon and his wife. Yet another symbol of the dying civilization smashed and debased. The couple is lucky that they weren't dragged from the car and beaten by "students". Maybe Chas should fear the mob more than climate change.

US State department cables leaked by Wikileaks reveal AGW hoaxes, bribes and illegal spying by the US government. Prince Tampon and all of our elites are in on the power and wealth grab. Perhaps Wikileaks has exposed the lies that bind the West together. Is there any longer any doubt how corrupt the US government truly is?

Stiglitz wants to shape globalization. He wants to study financial interconnectivity, racial financial worldviews and how the global depression has affected globalization and US credibility. My view is that global elites are using globalization to destroy cultures, including the US middle class culture. But maybe darker forces will finish the american dream.

Venezuela will base Iranian Shahab missiles that can reach as far as Chicago in the future. Of course our  government doesn't see any threat from either Iran or Venezuela. Maybe a Navy SM-3 system can knock the Shahabs down before they nuke DC....maybe not. Should we even care anymore.

The entire Western civilization is stumbling on the edge of the abyss in a cultural vacuum without God. It's symbols are shattered and it's words revealled as the cheapest lies. Divorced from all ties from the past, drunk and depressed it waits for something to push it over the edge.

The US and the rest of the West is wreckage that needs to be swept away so history can resume it's long march.

The US economy is impaled upon the horns of a dilemma. The US must consume in order to heal but with 20% under/unemployment and flatline income, that ain't going to happen. Consumers are tapped out so they can't borrow to consume so the government has to deliver tax cuts so americans will buy stuff. But public debt is unsustainable and growing so any tax cuts just increase indebtedness, kicking the can down the road. We may survive tomorrow but not so sure about next year.

The Chinese think the US economy is in worse shape than the EU and in 6-12 months it will show.

The economy must be worse than we even know if our naked emporer and his minions are granting extension of the Bush tax cuts and a social security tax holiday. Roubini says that housing is back in the tank and banks are exposed to another $1T in bad loans. The Euro crisis is spreading with Hungary downgraded to lower than gooseshit and Austria is next.


Mignon Clyburn, the passionate FCC commissioner, eloquently pleaded for free internet for "nappy headed children". What about straight haired children? I'm thinking that I have a greater risk of being detained and groped by "authorities" than killed by a terrorist.

Lawmakers are optimistic that they will pass legislation to extend the Bush tax cuts and unemployment benefits. What choice do they have? The stock market will crash on or about December 15th if the tax cuts lapse and americans will be dying in the streets if UC benefits aren't continued.

Hey, we're broke and in debt beyond what we could ever repay. What's another trillion or twenty at this point?

Wikileaks Reflections

I haven't read even one of Wikileaks revelations that I find shocking. Perhaps I'm a bit more jaded than most people but I'm very disappointed in the mundane quality of the material so far. Thousands of news and opinion articles have been written about the subject material leaked. Nothing new here at all.

Am I supposed to be surprised that politicians and diplomats lie, that nation's look after their own interests, that everyone spies on everyone else, that bribes are the basis of all agreements, that morals have no place in the public sphere? And then there are the revelations that are not, China spies, Saudi Arabia funds terrorism, etc. Some of the cables read like a teenager's Facebook page, pure adolescent bile spewed about a rival.

The days of civil, polite society have long been gone. And the image of the sophisticated, educated upper class was vanquished long ago by the very common behavior of our former betters. Blue bloods like the Kennedys revealed that our aristocrats were whore-mongers, drunks, liars and thieves.

Then there's the matter of Bradley Manning and Julian Assange. Neither of these freak shows are heroic. They're both punk ne'er-do-wells, shit stirrers and rebels without a clue. Bradley Manning is just another queer involved in espionage, dating Tyler Watkins and despising his miserable life. I hope the US military convicts him of espionage and executes him. Julian Assange is an egomaniac sociopath that couldn't care less what effect his leaks have on the world. I'm sure that he doesn't believe he raped those women in Sweden. Sociopaths are like that.

Julian Assange says he has created a Doomsday pill that will be released if he is arrested or killed. He threatens to reveal secrets about Gitmo, BP, american banks, et al. I say "Bring it". Assange wants to run with the big dogs, the powers that be should call his bluff. What is he gonna reveal? That channel locks and blow torches were used on Gitmo detainees? That Obama ordered the Macondo rig blown up to stop Gulf drilling? That american banks intentionally crashed the US economy?
 
I don't care if Assange's lifeless body is found in a hog confinement barn or he spends a decade in a Swedish prison for rape. Julian wanted to be a celebrity and didn't care a whit what damage he caused to do it. He isn't a freedom fighter nor is he trying to create anything good. And when you live by the sword, you just might, by God, die by it.

Hillary Clinton says that the Wikileaks revelations "tear at the fabric of government". Well that might be true for the gullible and naive, but most of us know that the government is all about lies, theft, power and corruption Hildebeast. Like Hillary's magical stock portfolios, Bubba's serial rapes, Vince Foster's suicide and Marc Rich's pardon for Iraqi Oil-for-Food scam. That soiled "fabric of government" Hill?

Will diplomacy be compromised by Wikileaks revelations? No because there's too much money involved and it is human nature to run your mouth. Just like murderers have to brag to a cellmate that he did the deed, politicians are compelled to chat themselves up by trashing someone else. People will be just as dumb tomorrow as they are today, no matter what happens in between.

I'll tell you where this is all leading. It is leading to a global society that lives in Hell. Where no one trusts anyone and we are all just animals feeding on one another, not for sustanence, but for pleasure. If God has not averted His gaze from His creation, He must be looking down like the lovely young lass above the text wondering what His creation has become.

American Problems:Part I

The depressed US economy is starting to show some signs of life in the midwestern state that I live in. One of our electricians found a union scale job at a major commercial vehicle manufacturer so is leaving the company. I was talking to the maintenance manager about this on Friday and he told me something that shows one of the problems that is destroying this country.

After the electrician gave the maintenance manager notice that he was leaving the company, the manager reported this information to HR. The HR director was shocked that an employee would leave the company for any reason, let alone higher wages and better benefits. She just couldn't understand why a $14 per hour pay increase would lure an employee away from our wonderful, exciting company. In fact, she was angry at the employee for leaving because she had just hired him a few months ago. How could he be so ungrateful?

After listening to this tirade, the experienced maintenance manager advised the HR director that he needed to replace the electrician immediately. The HR director said that he needed to find a black female electrician. That all his tradesmen were white males and the company needed a black female tradesperson. He told her that it was her job to find a replacement and that he would hire a qualified applicant regardless of sex or race. She told him that she couldn't find a black, female tradesperson and he should use his experience and connections to find one, or he wouldn't get any replacement at all!

The company that I work for is the most diverse workplaces that I've ever seen. Half of our hourly operators are Black, a quarter are Hispanic and the rest older white folk. Our salaried staff is Chinese, Japanese, Indian, Black, Arab, Hispanic, Persian, Indonesian, Korean, Various Europeans and white American. But apparently every function must look like a Coke commercial to the HR director.

I've worked in the automotive and semiconductor industry for 41 years and I've never seen a black, female electrician. I've only seen one female electrician and she was more masculine than me. Apparently most women don't want to be an electrician and no black women want to be an electrician. If one did, you can bet that the federal government would move earth and sea to educate and place one.

But our company's college educated HR director demands that the maintenance manager go find an elusive unicorn or just do without an important  resource in the company. Shocking ignorance and arrogance! I can see where this is heading. The director will alter the job description to fit a black female, hire her and then, presto, we will have a black electrician. Never mind that she can't do the job. That will be the maintenance manager and other electrician's problem.

This kind of thing is rampant in modern american business. Unqualified individuals in jobs they can never do. I don't know how many times I've been asked to do someone else's job and when I ask why they don't see the person who by title should do the work am told the person is incompetent. I've been holding hands of affirmative action engineering managers and engineers who have no aptitude or ability quite a bit lately. It's killing me and the company. As well as america.

I suspect that the US business landscape is swamped with affirmative action incompetents and that is a big part of the problem. Universities award dumb-downed degrees to unqualified students then employers hire these useless cubicle occupiers to appear diverse. The government is absolutely full of this crap. Hell, even our president is an affirmative action case with no more ability to lead than a Kenyan cowherd.

Bush Tax Cuts Will Define America's Short Term Future

The House approved Obama tax plan was rejected by the Senate today so it's back to negotiation by the lame duck Congress. Once again, it is uncertain if the Bush tax cuts will be extended or allowed to lapse.

The US economy is sending mixed signals whether it wll crawl forward in improvement or slide back deeper into recession. The stock market and consumer spending look marginally better but unemployment, manufacturing activity and the news in general look worse. And this is a happy, distracted time of the year.

I think the Bush tax cuts are critical to the short term future of the US economy. If the tax cuts expire, the US economy will surely diminish and could push the country deeper into the depression. Health care and insurance costs will reduce take home pay next year, further reducing disposable income. The market will sell off in mid December if the tax cuts expire, resulting in a downward shift in mood of the country.

The American century has ended and the American Empire is in full collapse. But if the bitter democrat lame ducks don't do due diligence and restore the Bush tax cuts the fall will be faster and harder. We'll see.

Whose Narrative

A old friend's mother died this week so the wife and I went to the visitation to pay our respects. It's odd what is and what isn't remembered by two people who lived the same event. Phil and I hadn't been close in decades. I had my professional engineering career and family, he was a UAW member/musician without children. I had to grow up and be an adult while he was a perpetual teenager.

As we chatted about the "good old days" Phil brought up three events from our teenage days that I had forgotten completely about. All three events were mundane adolescent behavior at it's worst. Nothing particularly memorable, certainly not life defining in any way. Why did he remember and I forgot? Why did these events seem important to him and apparently useless to me?

He had me at the center of all these events while the truth was, I was just along for the ride. In hindsight, I was mildly embarrassed to even be associated with the events. I wouldn't want any of these events to be used to define my life. I commented afterwards that mindless youth does a lot of stupid stuff. That's all i could manage.

History is the narrative of those who take the time to sit down and record events. If Phil wrote the narrative of our life, I would seem the fool. I wonder just how much of this passes as the history that I study and cite? I've always been a skeptical student. This real life case of altered history gives me even more reasons to have a moment of pause.

Supercell

The House passed a version of the Bush tax cuts that clobbers anyone making more than $200,000 per year. Now the Senate must act. Fundamentally I'm against big government, which includes big taxes. And I don't like the idea of class warfare.
But with the nation mired in depression and half the country's wealth accumulated in the hands of less than 1% of the population this extension of the Bush tax cuts will work for me. Will it hurt small business? Yes. I would prefer the income cutoff to be higher. Small business used to account for most employment. In this depression who the hell knows anymore.

This extension works for me as a lower, maybe lowest, middle class income earner barely hanging on.

I can't worry about some guy making $200,000 per year. He's on his own. And those making a million or more per year? They keep saying we ought to pay higher taxes, so let them pay. And the oligarchs? They own the government, let them pay for it all.

I still don't know what health insurance payroll deductions will be in 2011. WaPo reports the the national average increase is 41%. That means I'll pay $488 per month in 2011. Three years ago I paid $132 per month at a former employer using the same Wellpoint plan. That's a 370% increase. If health care costs rose 20% per year, how can Wellpoint justify this blatant price gouging? Fucking medical mafia.

The common man is getting hit by a supercell. We'll be lucky to survive another year.

Others have US diplomats referring to Russia as a "virtual mafia state" and saying that President Dmitry Medvedev plays "Robin" to Mr Putin's "Batman."

Wellpoint made my company a health insurance offer that they couldn't refuse, just like the Corleone's. Here it is Decmber 1st and the company is scrambling to find us something even remotely affordable before our insurance expires at the end of the year. Obamacare and Wellpoint, Corleones and Gambinos working together to steal the american people blind, like the mafia.
