Then the lights go dark

Democrats have taken recently to claiming that the election was "decisive", that elections have "consequences" and that they "won". If anything was decisive in this election, it was that 55% of eligible voters stayed home, deciding that no candidates or issues mattered enough to bother voting. The minority 45% decided to turn out to vote, electing a  president on a 4% electoral majority. Nothing "decisive" there.
So what is the truth in this election?

People voted their pockets.

Most people apparently didn't think that anything would change their status. Healthcare, taxes, spending. Everyone knows what a mess this country is in these days. No candidate would really change anything so why bother. Just go with the flow.

The rest?

27% of the voters, often city dwellers, poor and getting poorer decided they wanted to continue getting free stuff. Free housing, free food, free utilities, free healthcare and all the rest. Unemployed, underemployed as they are, it makes sense. And cops, firemen, bureaucrats and union members just want to stay on the gravy train for another day or week or work life making the big bucks.

The remaining 23% of rural and suburban voters wanted opportunity to rule the land. And they wanted rules rather than chaos and anarchy. They're the folks who sit down and create budgets for household income and spending. These people want to make decisions for themselves and their families rather than federal bureaucrats.

The urban and suburban/rural areas of this country are very different and have disparate needs. They are alien cultures to each other. Just as no city dweller can imagine living  in a suburban/rural space, nor can a suburban/rural person imagine living in a megalopolis.

The twain shall never meet.

The Choomer, Reid, Pelosi are city dwellers as are blacks, browns, asians and jews. The wealthy mostly as well. They can't comprehend anyone wanting to live out "there". They want socialism and don't care what it costs. It's all Bernanke printed, created out of thin air money anyway. Million, billion, trillion...quadrillion dollars. Who cares? Gimme.

Nothing was decisive in this election except that the urban spaces won. Probably forever. Conservatives need to learn that you can't fence time. This country has changed...forever.

As I drive through wealthy suburbs I think to myself, they're coming after ya'll. AMT is gonna get ya'll. And estate taxes are gonna get your kids too. And somewhere before it all falls apart, the US is gonna be the Roman Empire with taxes, slaves and barbarians. Then the lights go dark

Note to the reader who makes it to the end of this editorial piece, Jill Kelley, Sarah and Jennifer Anniston will never give you any pussy. Nope.
