Laborless Day Weekend

Summer is almost out of reach as the Labor Day weekend is here. Here in Bruigville I can hear the local high school team playing football down the street, the air is chilly and the trees are already shedding a few leaves.
Tonight the low temperature will be 48F and the high temperature tomorrow will be 68F. I'll close the pool because the season is over, too cold for even the grandboys to go swimming this weekend.

The unemployment numbers today were higher demonstrating the weakening US economy. The government says 9.6% unemployment while others claim 20% or more. Looking at the data in the WSJ article, it's hard to find good news but the DOW continued it's rally on "it could have been worse news" sentiment.
The Obama administration is in political panic mode as the US has lost 283,000 jobs in this "Summer of Recovery". Their lies are unmasked and no one believes their bullshit anymore. So they will roll out more stimulus, and debt.

This is the 41st Labor Day I've "celebrated" as a full time worker. I'm lucky to even have a job in this economy considering that I'm damn near 60 years old. I'm going to have to work another 8 years to make up for lost 401k savings and pensions that got handed over to PBGC. I'm Ok with that. I just hope that there's someplace for me to work!

This holiday weekend will be depressing for millions of unemployed workers. Most people want to work. They want to pay their way and be part of society. No matter how much people gripe about work, they secretly enjoy getting up in the morning and having something meaningful to do. Sitting at home feeling useless can destroy a man.
It's a crime what has happened to the US economy and it would be worth celebrating this Labor Day if we could hang the bastards that caused this destruction of so many men and women. Instead there will be labor leaders and politicians giving speeches. Many should be swinging on a rope, as they were part of the swindle.

I'm calling this Laborless Day weekend. And it's no reason to celebrate.
