Dr. Steven Hawking is a Nihilist After All

Steven Hawking is a smart man, and a stupid man. He states, in his new book The Grand Design, that
“Because there is a law such as gravity, the Universe can and will create itself from nothing. Spontaneous creation is the reason there is something rather than nothing, why the Universe exists, why we exist.” Then says “It is not necessary to invoke God to light the blue touch paper and set the Universe going.”

Where did the law of gravity come from Steven? From nothing?

Spontaneous creation is ridiculous. Has anyone ever witnessed spontaneous creation? I haven't. If something can just spring magically from nothing, shouldn't someone have seen it?

Steven has to have faith in his something from nothing theory. Many others have faith that God had to create the universe and the laws that rule it. I think it is far better to believe in a God who created His universe, with all of it's wonders, than that the universe sprang from nothing. If  the universe spontaneously created itself from nothing, then the universe, and everything in it, is nothing as well. Why try to do or be anything if it all ends up as nothing, nowhere?

Steven may be an physics genius but is an nihilist when it comes to philosophical matters.
