Macondo Prospect Well Plugged

BP is testing the cement plug that renders the Macondo Prospect well dead. Once the well passes the 15k pound pressure test, the relief well will be plugged and the work gets turned over to lawyers the buzzards who will pick the corpse dry.

The lasting question will be, is the US deepwater, offshore oil business dead. The moratorium on exploration expires on November 30th unless Dictator Obama extends it. Meanwhile 8200 jobs and $2.1B in revenue has been lost and oil exploration companies are reconsidering whether it's worthwhile to pursue new exploration in US coastal waters.

The Gulf was wounded but didn't die. Increasing america's energy independence may have been mortally wounded.
