Fukushima reactors 1, 2 and 3 fuel rods are melted and lying in the bottom of the vessels. Only the emergency water being poured on the pieces are keeping the mess from melting through the bottom of the vessels. Officials believe it will be 9 months until they can even stabilize the units.
