China will overtake the US as the world's biggest economy in two years according to the Conference Board's Purchasing Power Parity scale. Sounds like some kind of horseshit scale to me but it's clear that China's economy is gaining on both Japan and the US. If the US sits here in iDepression2.0 for the next decade while China builds a consumer economy, the Chinese will overtake the US with ease.
China's SAIC is planning on buying a single digit chunk of GM. Good for them! The Chinese can buy all of GM as far as I'm concerned. GM stopped being an american company when they fucked all of their US employees, american communities and the US taxpayers. The GM/UAW dirtbags can pay the taxpayers back, move to China and ruin Chinese lives and communities.
The Chinese military is getting pretty good at anti-satellite warfare. But in the process, they're making an orbital junkyard. I don't know why they're worried about a confrontation with the US. We're clearly an empire in full decline. Give the US another decade and we'll have a UK sized Navy that can barely defend the Chesapeake Bay.

Besieged bobbies look like Roman legionaires trying to hold back the barbarians at the gates of Rome. Like the Greeks and French, they will win the battle but lose the war. One day in the near future those few bobbies won't show up to stop the kids from over-running the imperial palace. Young people will demand a future and who can blame them. All my generation can provide youth is debt, ruin and despair. Smash it all, and burn it to the ground!
Remember how fast the Soviet Union collapsed? And how quietly? The West may collapse even faster but much noisier.
My generation has wrecked the West and made a ruin of all of my parent's generations work. If the kids want to smash the hollowed out Potemkin village and burn it to the ground, I won't defend the ruin. My generation has lost the right to rule. The kids can't do a worse job of it.
