Isolated, Uncontrolled Nuclear Chain Reactions at Fukushima

Reactor 1 seems to have a major failure that is resulting in isolated, uncontrolled nuclear chain reactions. Radiation levels are so high near the plant that workers won't survive efforts to secure pumps, power or facilities. Robots have been summoned from the US to investigate the wreckage of the plant. Some suggest that a concrete sarcophagus is the only chance of containing the mess at Fukushima now. It may be possible that a significant part of Japan will be uninhabitable, with sea and land irradiated forever.
