SecDef Panetta must have been terrified of being shot by a rogue Marine as Major General Charles Mark Gurganus ordered Marines disarmed before hearing Panetta speak on March 14.

Disarming Marines in a combat zone is the singular dumbest thing that I've ever heard in my life. If asked to lay my weapon down outside the tent, I would have kept walking. What thing of value does Panetta have to say anyway? We're winning?
